Welcome to Hostal Mediterráneo
Hostal Mediterráneo is a hotel establishment located in Tossa de Mar (Costa Brava). It existed more than 70 years ago as a guest house and a little more than 50 years ago it was expanded into a hostal, renovated and restored, still retaining the charm of the property’s antiquity.
The hostal is in an ideal location, the main beach is a 3 minute walk and 5 minutes from the castle «Vila Vella».

Tossa de Mar is located on the Costa de Girona (Costa Brava). It is an old fishing town. It became famous when, in the 1950s, actors Ava Gardner and James Mason arrived in the town to film "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman."
Nowadays, the main attraction is the medieval-walled enclosure called "Vila Vella," built in the 12th century to prevent pirate attacks. In the surroundings, you can find the remains of a Roman villa from the 4th century, called Els Ametllers.
One highly notable aspect of Tossa is its beaches and coves, lining the coastline and bathed by the Mediterranean Sea.
Parking
We recommend the municipal parking 5-10 minutes from the Hostal, located behind the bus station (Miramar street), and the price is 10 € per day. At reception, we will be happy to provide directions, or you can contact us through the contact form on this page.
You can arrive in front of the hostel for loading and unloading luggage.
Hostal Mediterraneo informs:
- Check-in is available in person from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
It is also possible to check in after 8:00 PM, as long as you notify us in advance.
- Check-out must be done before 12:00 PM.
- The hostal is a 5-minute walk from the bus station.
- All rooms have Wi-Fi, air conditioning, TV, private bathroom, gel and shampoo dispenser, towels, hairdryer…
- Optional breakfast from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
